Pauline Esther Friedman Phillips (aka. Dear Abby) was an identical twin; her sister, Esther Pauline Friedman Lederer, wrote the Ann Landers column until her death from multiple myeloma in 2002, at age 83. As children, the two grew up in Sioux City, Iowa, and went by the nicknames “Popo” and “Eppie”, respectively. Both are alumnae of Morningside College and both wrote for the college newspaper. They were so close then that they had a joint wedding in 1939 when both women were 21 years old. They were both Jewish.

So Ann Landers and Dear Abby were twin siblings?  Part of a larger bad homely advice conspiracy?

This module turns Nginx into an adept HTTP Push and Comet server. It takes care of all the connection juggling, and exposes a simple interface to broadcast messages to clients via plain old HTTP requests. This lets you write live-updating asynchronous web applications as easily as their oldschool classic counterparts, since your code does not need to manage requests with delayed responses.

I’ve been using nginx quite a bit, and I wanted to add some real time features to a site I’m working on, but didn’t want to go through the complexity of an eJabberd server.  This has been working quiet well, I’m impressed.

I admit I’m impressed with iPhoto’s facial recognition.  Though it would be nice if it matched human faces a little better.

A single mutation in 1820 in an orchard of sweet oranges planted at a monastery in Brazil yielded the navel orange, also known as the Washington, Riverside, or Bahie navel. The mutation causes the orange to develop a second orange at the base of the original fruit, opposite the stem, as a conjoined twin in a set of smaller segments embedded within the peel of the larger orange. From the outside, it looks similar to the human navel, thus its name.

So all navel oranges are infertile, have a conjoined twin, and are siblings.  And delicious.
